Volunteering at Project Barnyard means joining a compassionate community dedicated to giving rescued animals a safe, loving home. You'll spend your time outdoors, alongside people who care as much as you do, doing work that directly impacts their health and happiness.

Animal Care

Feed, groom, and interact with our animals — whether that be filling waters, giving a bath, or simply sitting with them; building trust with rescues who are still learning that people can be gentle is so rewarding and crucial to their healing.

Poop Scooping

Horses love to make messes - we clean daily here. Stalls, paddocks and pastures can always be cleaned so every animal has a comfortable, safe place to rest.

Before Your first visit

What to Expect as a Volunteer

No experience necessary — just an admiration for animals. Whether you have a just a few hours or can commit to regular visits, we welcome every level of involvement, and someone is always here to show you the ropes.

What should I bring?

Comfortable clothes, a snack, a water bottle, sturdy shoes, and a love for animals.

Are there physical requirements?

Tasks generally involve light to moderate physical activity, but we'll work with you to match activities to your comfort level.

How old do I need to be?

Volunteers 18 and over are welcome to sign up on their own. Younger volunteers are welcome too, with a parent or guardian's sign-off.
