Lance

{"type"=>"root", "children"=>[{"type"=>"paragraph", "children"=>[{"type"=>"text", "value"=>"Lance was not even a yearling when he was dumped to be sold to slaughter because of a broken pelvis. We rescued him and had him taken to the nearest veterinary hospital and surgical center. After various tests, they discovered there was nothing we could do to fix him. Given he was a Belgian draft horse, as he continued to grow, his pain would only increase. We helped him pass from his painful body peacefully. We never knew if he was born that way, or his previous owner tried to work him too young and caused a fatal injury in doing so."}]}]}
