Obi

{"type"=>"root", "children"=>[{"type"=>"paragraph", "children"=>[{"type"=>"text", "value"=>"Obi was rescued from a local kill pen, just five hours away from us. He somehow still had a winter coat in July, which was due to malnourishment and neglect. His hooves were overgrown and his left knee was swollen and arthritic. Despite this, he got around well. We focused on him gaining weight and keeping him comfortable. After about 5-6 weeks, typically when the adrenaline wears off and they finally relax knowing they're home, he started struggling to walk comfortably on his front left. We upped pain management, but with no success. We laid Obi to rest and freed him of his painful body. He was one of the gentlest, kindest souls. I know without a doubt he was an incredible horse for a very long time, his body just could not keep up."}]}]}
